January 19, 2018 – 19.30 – St. Matthäus Church, Rathenaustrasse 1, Erlangen
Composer and FAU-Alumnus from Fürth, Uwe Strübing, has created the festive cantata “Truth and Love” (in German “Wahrheit und Liebe“) for the occasion of the 275th anniversary of FAU. The university’s Director of Music, Professor Dr. Konrad Klek, has compiled the libretto by combining the biblical “Song of Love” (1 Corinthian 13) with poems by Friedrich Rückert and Matthias Claudius. The song calls research to humility in a subtle manner. The premiere with the university’s orchestra, the university’s choir as well as soloists from FAU will take place during a festive concert at the end of the symposium opening the anniversary year in St. Matthäus Church.
